Grow BMLSIA's presence on LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, and use the numbers to keep improving.

BMLSIA trains biomedical scientists to build tech driven health solutions. Our work deserves a bigger audience. Social media is where that audience finds us.

As Social Media Manager, you own our presence on LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. You plan the content, schedule it, publish it, engage with the audience, and measure what works. You do not just post. You grow.

You work closely with the Communications Lead, Content Writer, Video Editor, and Community Manager, and with other team members when needed, so every channel tells the same story in the right format.

This role is for someone who understands each platform, loves data, and can tell the difference between a post that looks good and a post that performs. If you can turn numbers into a strategy, you belong here.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: build and maintain a social media plan for each platform

  • Content calendar: plan, schedule, and publish posts consistently across all five channels

  • Platform fit: adapt one idea into the right format for LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok

  • Collaboration: work with the content, video, and community team to turn their output into posts

  • Copywriting: write captions, threads, hooks, and descriptions in BMLSIA’s voice

  • Engagement: reply to comments, mentions, and messages quickly and professionally

  • Growth: run campaigns, challenges, and collaborations that bring in new followers

  • Event coverage: post live updates and recaps from BMLSIA events

  • Analytics: track reach, engagement, follower growth, watch time, and clicks on every platform

  • Reporting: send a clear weekly and monthly report on what worked, what failed, and what to do next

  • Optimization: test posting times, formats, and hooks, then double down on winners

  • Brand: keep visuals, tone, and profiles consistent and up to date

  • Monitoring: watch trends, competitors, and brand mentions, and flag risks early

Requirements

  • Platforms: hands on experience managing at least three of LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok

  • Analytics: can read platform insights and explain what the numbers mean

  • Tracking: comfortable monitoring progress against goals with a sheet, dashboard, or analytics tool

  • Writing: strong captions, hooks, and short form copy in English

  • Scheduling tools: familiar with tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Metricool, or native schedulers

  • Content sense: understands what makes a post, reel, short, or thread work

  • Basic design: can use Canva or similar to create simple graphics

  • Consistency: posts on schedule and responds fast

  • Judgment: handles negative comments and sensitive topics with care

  • Reliability: stable internet and a dependable phone or laptop

  • Bonus: experience growing an account or brand from a low base

  • Bonus: basic video editing skills (CapCut, Edits, or similar)

  • Bonus: experience with paid promotion or boosted posts

  • Bonus: interest in health, science, or tech education

What you get

  • Work directly with the Communications Lead and the content team

  • Full ownership of BMLSIA’s public voice across five platforms

  • Remote friendly, flexible hours

  • Access to events, founders, and the HealthTech education space

  • Certificate and reference on successful completion

  • Room to grow into a senior media, growth, or communications role
